About:
A beautiful time elapse image of the Earth, taken in a single shot by Russia’s latest weather satellite Electro-L, has enchanted Internet users around the world.
The images are a combination of visible and near-infrared wavelengths, depicting the Earth in a way not visible to the human eye. For example, the planet’s vegetation looks red.
So far, these 21 megapixels depict the highest resolution Earth images ever made. That’s 60 miles of the earth’s surface packed into every pixel.
Christian Mülhauser endured frigid conditions and frozen cameras to capture the spectacular northern lights in Norway last month. It appears to have been worth the trouble for this fantastic video.
Abraj: The two towers of Dubai (by Philip Bloom) is a dazzling time-lapse video that captures the city’s splendor and its ultra-modern architecture.
About the project:
Commisioned to shoot various timelapses of the Emirate by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai. This is an edit I put together for myself of some of my favourite shots. Including some amazing views from 154 floors up on the Burj Khalifa.
Yosemite HD (by Project Yosemite) is a beautiful time-lapse video of one of America’s treasures.
Beautiful time-lapse video of HDR skies by Tanguy Louvigny
Ocean Sky (by Alex Cherney) was the deserving overall winner at the STARMUS astrophotography competition. I highly recommend finding the biggest screen you can to watch this.
