The Hive Cuff by Designerica (aka Erica Schwartz)

Schwartz on her work:

Bees are amazing social creatures that create delicious treasures and provide vital benefits for local plants, gardens, and farms. One of my neighbors keeps bees on our roof (check out brooklynhomesteader.com) so i get to watch them in action.

This cuff bracelet was inspired by the way light filters through the wax combs full of honey that are their gift to us. Just looking at the bracelet makes my mouth water. The irregular shape is designed for comfort to cup the wrist bone.

Susana Soares’s design work is as fascinating as the science behind it:

Scientific research has demonstrated that bees have an extraordinarily acute sense of smell and can be trained to perform health checks by detecting a specific odour in peoples’ breath.

The project consists in a series of alternative diagnostic tools that use bees to diagnose accurately at an early stage of a vast variety of diseases.

Could this revolutionise medicine as we know it?

Wonderland is an incredible ongoing photography series from Nadav Bagim

For 10 years Maggie Taylor never photographed anything beyond her garden. In 1995 she learned how to use Photoshop and ever since then she has taken her photography to places far beyond the ordinary.
