Red Saunders isn’t a historical reenactor, he’s history’s photographer. For his project “Hidden” he meticulously researched the ‘hidden histories’ behind famous stories to present the events as accurately as possible using dozens of actors.
Saunders describes his project:
‘I recreate important moments in the long struggle of working people for democracy and social justice. History has been dominated by kings, queens, war and ‘great men’. Hidden engages with a different historical narrative involving dissenters, revolutionaries and radicals.’
“Hidden” is on display now for the Ways of Looking Festival in Bradford, England.
